Hot-Weather Trail Advisory!
Skyline Regional Park has entered the hot weather season. Please use extra caution and use trails at dawn or dusk when there is more shade and less intense heat. During the day, full sun temperatures can be more than 20 degrees warmer than official shade temperatures, making it dangerous for trail users. Even if you are hydrated, you can still suffer from heat-related illness. Please note trail difficulty ratings increase one level when temperatures reach above 90°, so trails rated easy become moderate and trails rated moderate become difficult. Make sure you follow all safety guidelines included in our Happy Trails Checklist.
Skyline Regional Park Fire Ban in Effect!
Fire ban in effect due to extreme fire danger from a combination of low humidity, increasing temperatures and frequent high winds. The fire ban prohibits open wood and charcoal fires at camping sites and picnic ramadas. Propane or gas grills may be used, but only at designated campsites and picnic ramadas. The fire ban is expected to be in effect until mid-October.
